My name is Tara Lindsay Hicks Essien and my husband is John Essien. I am a United States citizen and my husband is from Ghana, West Africa.

John and I met on a Christian Web Site in 2004. Once we discovered our purpose here on Earth, we struggled with the logistics of our addresses! I was in the States and John was a "world away" in Africa! ... After almost 2 years of a mountain of paperwork and my 3 trips to Ghana, we both now live in Southern California, by God's grace! God has called us to build a Christian school for poor children in the country of Ghana, West Africa...This is our story, this is our journey ...

to give God glory ...

It is the prayer of our hearts and the desire of God's heart, for us to do Kingdom work in Prampram, Ghana.

It is with great saddness that we share the passing of John's Dad, Paul Essien, who went to be with the Lord on December 2nd, 2009.

Dad was very proud of John and was so very excited for the success of Promise Land Ranch School. His memory will live on through PLR.

We love and miss you Dad ...
